Most Beautiful Campuses In Nigeria Today


Hey guys, I know we all miss school these times, yeah who am I kidding we may not miss the academic part but it's a package deal if we must see our friends and have our fun we must have to get this thing called high CGPA and usually it's gotten by taking classes and passing exams too. 

Oh well in a bid to remind us what the sights in our various schools are like, I made this write-up about the 10 most beautiful campuses in Nigeria, do relax and enjoy the read. 


10. UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN 


UI is a public research university in Ibadan state, Nigeria. The university was established in the year 1948 as (University College Ibadan). It is the oldest degree awarding University in Nigeria, it became independent in 1963. UI has a total number of 92 academic departments arranged into 17 faculties.

Though characterized by old and very historically astute structures, the University campus is still a site to behold and has never stopped being one of the most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing campuses in Nigeria. The University Library contains 700,000 volumes of information and over 1,250 seats for readers. A testament to the structural and academic beauty of the University of Ibadan is the calibre of people it has as recorded alumni, these include, Abdulganiyu Abdulrasaq, lawyer, former President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Sadique Abubakar, Nigeria Chief of Air Staff Chinua Achebe, novelist, author of Things Fall Apart and his excellency Kayode Fayemi, former Governor of Ekiti State. UI is listed as the 10th on our list of the top 10 most beautiful campuses in Nigeria.

Established in 2004, Gombe State University is a public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Gombe. Officially recognized by the National Universities Commission, Nigeria, Gombe State University (GSU) is a very small coeducational higher education institution however Gombe State University is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

A visit to the campus reveals its one of a kind landscape and beautiful environment, which is one of the underlying facts that earns this university a 9th spot on our list of the top 10 most beautiful campuses in Nigeria. Gombe State University (GSU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees, bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. In its only 16 years of operation you would agree that despite its small size the University of Gombe is swinging hard to be able to compete with the big boys and make an appearance on the number 9th position on our count down.

8. FUNAAB

The University was established on 1 January 1988 by the Federal Government when four universities of technology, earlier merged in 1984, were partitioned. This led to the creation of the first two universities of agriculture in the states of Abeokuta and Makurdi.

FUNAAB is the pride of Ogun state and people as it gives the South-West region of nation a great recognition. Despite being number 8 on our list, FUNAAB is of course the most beautiful Federal University of Agriculture in the country.


One of the structures that is worthy of mention in this university is it's ultra modern Senate building. This architectural masterpiece stands several storeys tall and cascades the landscape so beautifully. For a university popular for agricultural exploits, the Federal University of Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Sure shows some architectural grandeur also. It may interest you to know that popular singer song writer kiss Daniel is an alumnus of this great institution. 7. LANDMARK UNIVERSITY


Landmark is a Private Christian University, inconjuction with the Living Faith Church Worldwide it is sited in Omu-Aran Kwara State, Nigeria. Landmark University also holds in high esteem her core value Spirituality, which is expected considering it's affiliation to one of the biggest Christian communities in the nation. 

Have you even visited Landmark University? Right at the entrance you catch sight of its pristine walkways decorated by the most colorful and well trimmed never caught unfresh shrubbery and flowers. To the faculties and if you are to pay a visit to the Senate building of this great institution, then perhaps you may understand why indeed it is a landmark in both academics and also structural beauty. 6. UNIPORT


The University of Port Harcourt is a university in the Nigerian city of Port Harcourt in Rivers state. Sitting pretty in the South-south University region of the nation University of Port Harcourt was established in 1975 as University College, Port Harcourt, and was given university status in 1977. If you don’t want to leave the south-south region of the country and yet want to attend a reputable university, then UNIPORT should be your destination.

An educational citadel which was has seen to the educational needs of many greats including his former President Good luck Ebele Jonathan, Rita Dominic, Nollywood actress, Agbani Darego, former MBGN, and former Miss World,Timipre Sylva, Governor of Bayelsa state to make but a few. The Institution is home to a lot of different standard facilities. Amongst them include student halls of residence, a guest inn, staff quarters, online portals, administrative buildings, faculty blocks, lecture theatres, sports facilities, a health service centre, a park (Choba Park), an arts theatre (the Crab) and so much more. Students and staffs of the institution can boast of having a nice and smooth learning environment that also enhances extracurricular activities.


5. UNILAG


University of Lagos (UNILAG), an institution once rumoured to be renamed as Moshood Abiola University, Lagos (MAULAG), it is situated in Akoka (yaba).  

Unilag boasts of a senate house which is arguably one of the best architectural pieces in a Nigerian University as a whole and certainly the best in Unilag and even it's surroundings. Since our topic is beauty it might interest you to know that This university probably houses the most beautiful girls you can find in a Nigerian University, which is the reason some people call it ‘Federal University of swag’ others call it ‘University toh badt’.

The University Of Lagos is known for Many Things, from good-looking students to amazing social activities. Unilag has amazing structures and good spots for chilling, The lagoon front is popularly known for its relaxing atmosphere. Almost or 70% of Unilag student will consider this place as one of the coolest place on campus where you can get cool air, have a glimpse view of the fishermen on the Lagos Lagoon, and a distant view of different types of cars moving to and fro from the island to the mainland on the popular THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE. Students can be seen here reading, chatting in groups, Lovers can be found here too. University of Lagos is arguably the most sought after higher institution in Nigeria not because of the beauties inherent there or the somewhat breathtaking structures and because it is situated in the centre of excellence and economic hub of the nation.

ABU, is the pride of the north and the best university in that part of the country. ABU is the oldest University in Northern Nigeria is named after the Sardauna of Sokoto, Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello, the first premier of Northern Nigeria 

If you want to see pretty hijab wearing Hausa and Fulani ladies then head to ABU.

The university has a large medical programme and it has spent significantly to keep that status, the faculty of physiology, medicine and applied sciences is really a sight to behold, with its own A.B.U. Teaching Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in Nigeria. ABU Also has beautiful sporting systems and structures and cool relaxation spots like the Pepsi Garden close to Queen Amina hall, all things considered one can argue that ABU is the biggest University in Nigeria. ABU is also the 4th on our list of the most beautiful campuses in Nigeria.

UNIBEN has always been an all-rounder and its magnificent structure is just one of its many astounding attributes. All you have to do is just catch a glimpse of that one of a kind gate house while you're on ugbowo express road aka ugbowo-lagos road Benin and you need not be told where you are.

Uniben boasts of beautiful faculties including school of medicine, faculty of arts faculty of engineering all at least two storeys and above, to name but a few and don't even get me started about her main auditorium, there are also countless relaxation spots like Green Park at the school entrance, botanical gardens, the golf course etc.

Uniben also has an ultramodern sports complex which is one of the few sports facilities in the country with an AstroTurf (artificial football pitch).


2. COVENANT UNIVERSITY 


Covenant University is one of the best privately owned universities in Nigeria with arguably the best campus.

Covenant University is seen by most as the best private university with the most beautiful campuses in Nigeria and also one where the elite and children of the elite are mostly found. 
Established in 2002 the Private Christian University later became, a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities,

Covenant university boasts of one of the biggest and ultramodern Senate building's I've ever seen sitting at 10 storeys and above probably why it was once ranked as the best university in Nigeria according to Webometrics.

Oba awon University (king of all universities) as it is colloquially called by its students is probably the best thing to ever happen to Osun state.

The University was named after a Nigerian legend in the person of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, on 12 May 1987. The man whose facial features grace the hundred naira note till this day.

Formerly called University of Ife, OAU is the best Nigerian University without doubt, it is absolutely outrageous if anyone were to bat an eyelash at this assertion as the evidence is there for all to see. Architectural perfection ontop aesthetic decorativeness that is rivaled by none in the land is the easiest way to describe OAU. With no doubt and argument we can bodly have OAU as the first on our list of the top 10 most beautiful campuses In Nigeria.
