This is to inform all prospective Candidates, their Parents and Guardians, that the Abia State University POST UTME Screening Exercise  for the 2020/2021 Academic Session earlier scheduled to begin as from Monday, 24th August, 2020, has been postponed due to the ongoing WASSCE Examination and the Directive of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
A new date  for the deadline will be Communicated in due course.

This is to inform all the Candidates who are seeking Admission into the Abia State University Degree Programmes that the Post UTME Screening Exercise Application form for the 2020/2021 Academic Session/Year is now out on sale [online].




Eligibility For ABSU Screening Exercise

  1. Candidates must have the following Qualifications for the screening exercise before he/she can proceed to get the application form.
  2. Candidates who must have chosen Abia State University as their 1st choice, 2nd choice and those who did not choose the University at all in the UTME but are willing to change on JAMB platform.
  3. Candidates who scored a minimum of 160 and above in the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
  4. Candidates must possess the basic five Ordinary level credit passes in accordance with the University’s Entry Requirements.
  5. Candidates using Awaiting Results can also apply, but should so indicate.

How to Apply For ABSU Screening Exercise

  • Candidates are to register for the Screening Exercise online by  logging into www.abiastateuniversity.edu.ng
  • Candidates should proceed to make the e-payment of Two thousand Naira (N2,000) only, in any of the following Banks listed below.
  • ABSU Microfinance Bank
  • Ecobank plc
  • Zenith Bank plc
  • First Bank plc
  • Fidelity Bank plc
  • Union Bank plc
  • All candidates should make sure their correct details are captured during the application for the post Utme screening test.
  • Candidates are not expected to upload any photograph or biometric capture, as pictures and biometric of candidates have been supplied by JAMB.
  • Any candidate who do not register for the post Utme screening exercise will not be considered for admission.
  • Foreign Candidates, inmates if correctional centres(prisons) and all so blind and deaf candidates are not eligible to register for the post Utme screening exercise.

Commencement And Deadline For ABSU Post Utme Registration

ABSU Registration for the screening exercise will commence on Monday, 20th of July and will close on Friday 21st of August 2020.

Schedule For The Screening Exercise

  1. The Abia State Post-UTME Screening Exercise will take place from as from Monday, 24th August to Monday, 7th September, 2020 (ONLINE).
  2. Candidates are to note that the screening exercise is as scheduled on the screening exercise slip they printed out after the online registration.
  3. Candidates are urged to stick to the examination dates and time on the test slip printed out during the online registration, as consideration will not be given to those who fail to login and take the screening test on the schedule date and time.
  4. Taking of test of GSM phones or it's use as a hotspot is not advisable for candidates as incoming calls may cause serious obstruction.
  5. Candidates are required to have internet connectivity before the scheduled time of their examinations.

  7. All applicants are to note that the names of successful candidates for Admission shall be published on the same site www.abaistateuniversity.edu.ng
